Microsoft has unveiled the second wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for January 2025, introducing eight new games and five additions to the Standard-tier library. This marks a notable improvement after months of the service removing more titles than it added. The last time Xbox Game Pass saw a net gain was July 2024, when it added 12 games and removed nine.
The January 2025 Wave 2 lineup includes eight fresh titles, bringing the total number of releases for the month to 12, matching the number of removals. Among the new arrivals are Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (already available as of January 21), Gigantic: Rampage Edition, Starbound, Eternal Strands, Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, Shady Part of Me, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector.
In addition to these, five games previously available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate since July 2024 are now joining the Standard-tier library. These include Flock, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Magical Delicacy, Tchia, and The Case of the Golden Idol.
Looking ahead, Microsoft also teased a new arrival for February 2025: Far Cry New Dawn, which will be available on February 4. This will be the third game in Ubisoft's Far Cry series to join Xbox Game Pass, following Far Cry 5 (added in July 2022) and Far Cry 6 (added in December 2023). These previous titles have remained part of the service, and it's likely Far Cry New Dawn will follow suit.
As for departures, six titles will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 31: Anuchard, Broforce, Darkest Dungeon, Death's Door, Maquette, and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. The February 2025 lineup is expected to be announced early next month, with the next Xbox Developer Direct on January 23 potentially bringing more Xbox Game Pass updates.
